Last year I made my first little steps into the world of e-Commerce with Zen Cart. This year I’ve had a look what WordPress has to offer, usually there is a plugin for everything – and came across WooCommerce from the same great people who brought you WooThemes.
I’ve now used it on 3 different projects – virtual items as well as tangible ones with a rather complicated shipping costs setup. While the more useful plugins like table rate shipping and payment gateways aren’t free, plenty of plug-ins and extensions are. There are pre-made commercial and free templates but it is just as easy to integrate WooCommerce into already existing WordPress Templates or make your own.
